Skeptical...unsure...even a bit scared....These are sometimes common feelings people have about seeing a Chiropractor.  Not for me, however, because I had no preconceived ideas about it.  You see, my mom was seeing a chiropractor for migraine headaches and my dad for old sports injuries when I was just a kid.  When my parents were getting their treatments, our chiropractor would sometimes treat me as well, just to keep my posture developing correctly as I was growing.  Now, as a chiropractor myself, I know that I was receiving preventative or maintenance care.  So, when I had my first sports injury, seeing my chiropractor to fix it was no big deal - I was already a patient.  read more »

"Ease of Body. Peace of Mind."

“What in the world is a chiropractor going to do to help me?” Dr. Roger Barnick recalls thinking prior to his first visit.  He had already been to the campus doctor and the best they could recommend was stretches and Advil.  He knew he needed more than that!

When he was a 20-year-old sophomore in college, his body hurt like he was 90!  In fact, Dr. Barnick was in Washington State pursuing an education as a physical therapist because he wanted to help others get out of pain and live with great health.  These plans changed once he experienced chiropractic first-hand.  As he puts it, “I simply knew that I would not be satisfied in any other profession."  read more »

Dr. Chris Asks some important questions of interest to Hattiesburg residents - Chiropractor Hattiesburg Dr. Chris Asks...

How could chiropractic help a stomach problem?
Chiropractic works by locating and reducing areas of the spine compromising nerve communications between your brain and your body. If nerves to or from your stomach are irritated, your stomach won't work right. Chiropractors find the source of the interference, reduce it and allow your body to work as designed.
Do nerves actually get pinched?
Chiropractors recognize two types of nerve disorders involved in vertebral subluxation complex. The least common is a pinched nerve that diminishes nerve supply to an affected organ or tissue. More common is the irritated nerve (facilitative lesion) which overexcites nerve communications to an affected organ or tissue. Chiropractic care has been shown to help with both types.
